Overview

Where mysticism
meets espresso.

Ritual is a visual identity project for a mystical-style café that also serves as a bookstore and creative space. The aesthetic is heavily influenced by witchcraft iconography, reinterpreted with a contemporary, graphic sensibility.

The central mark — a flame-crowned eye — anchors the entire identity system, appearing across menus, apparel, signage, and social media with confident versatility. Deep red and near-black form a palette that feels theatrical without being heavy.

Concept

The mark of
the ritual.

The logomark was designed to operate as a full emblem — icon and wordmark together — as well as independently. The flame-eye motif references occult symbolism and all-seeing iconography, while the bold serif lettering of "RITUAL" gives it the permanence of a proper noun.

Two versions — crimson on dark and black on cream — allow the identity to adapt across dark and light surfaces without losing its character.

The identity was applied to menus, business cards, social media templates, interior and exterior signage, and branded apparel. An Instagram profile was developed to test the visual system at a smaller scale, proving the mark's legibility across every context.
